US Eighth-Graders Build School Newscast From Scratch With Gemini
Students used Gemini, Google Docs, and Slides to create and produce their school’s first newscast.
What happened
Eighth-grade students at Carriel Junior High in O’Fallon, Illinois, launched the school’s first newscast, “The Cougar Rumble,” without an existing name, logo, or brand. They used Gemini to compare themes in logo sketches, develop branding prompts, refine scripts, and organise shot lists for weekly broadcasts, while keeping students’ original ideas at the centre.
Why it matters
The workflow gives students more time and structure to brainstorm, revise, and turn their own creative ideas into a recurring production.
