CAQM Deploys Flying Squads Across 34 Punjab, Haryana Districts
CAQM will monitor stubble-burning incidents across 34 Punjab and Haryana districts during the 2026 paddy harvest season.
What happened
The Commission for Air Quality Management has strengthened field monitoring by deploying flying squads across 18 Punjab and 16 Haryana districts from October 1 to November 30, 2026. Teams will coordinate with farmers, district officials, state agencies and pollution-control boards, while submitting daily reports on ground conditions and stubble-burning incidents to CAQM.
Why it matters
The deployment creates continuous field-level oversight during harvesting, enabling faster assessment, closer coordination among enforcement agencies and immediate action against stubble burning.
