NVIDIA, Microsoft Bring Local AI Agents to Windows PCs
NVIDIA and Microsoft are integrating local AI hardware and agent security infrastructure into Windows PCs.
What happened
At a San Francisco event, Microsoft announced general availability of Microsoft Execution Containers, which let AI agents run securely and persistently under Windows control. NVIDIA introduced RTX Spark systems with up to 128GB of unified memory and one petaflop of FP4 AI performance. RTX Spark laptop preorders opened Wednesday, with availability scheduled for October 16; compact desktops follow in November.
Why it matters
Developers can run larger AI models locally, keep data off the cloud, and use NVIDIA’s CUDA software stack within Windows rather than maintaining separate Windows and Linux environments.
