Google Launches Playground, Letting Users Create Games Without Code
Google has launched Playground, a browser platform for creating, playing and sharing games through text prompts, without coding.
What happened
Google’s experimental Playground platform lets users create custom games by describing characters, rules and worlds in text prompts. Games can remain private, be shared with friends or published to a community gallery with multiplayer and leaderboards in select genres. It is available in the U.S. to users aged 18 and over, with creation access tiered by Google AI subscription. Unity Spark integration is planned.
Why it matters
Playground lowers game-development barriers for people without coding skills, while subscription-based access determines how much creation capability users receive. The platform also opens a community channel for distributing custom games.
