What happened
The Defence Production Department began the implementation phase of Special Campaign 6.0 on October 2, with the programme scheduled to run until October 31, 2026. It targets cleanliness, disposal of pending files and cases, and better collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste across offices, public-sector undertakings and remote service locations. The previous campaign cleared 17.42 lakh square feet and generated ₹15.62 crore from scrap disposal.
Why it matters
The campaign is intended to reduce administrative backlogs, improve usable office space and establish more systematic handling of e-waste across defence production offices and organisations.
