Meta Gives Singapore Disability Groups 1,000 AI-Powered Glasses
Meta is donating 1,000 Ray-Ban Meta glasses and US$30,000 for accessibility training in Singapore.
What happened
Meta announced donations of 1,000 Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses to four Singapore organisations supporting people with disabilities. The recipients are the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, Guide Dogs Singapore, the Singapore Disability Sports Council and Gardens by the Bay. A US$30,000 grant will fund training on using the glasses safely for tasks including reading text and identifying objects.
Why it matters
The programme gives people with disabilities access to AI-enabled tools and training intended to support greater independence in daily life, work, sport and community participation.
